On the 100th anniversary of the breakthrough at Caporetto, the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary – Institute of History is organizing a day of remembrance. The breakthrough is also known as the Battle of Caporetto* and the Twelfth Battle of the Isonzo. Minister of Defense István Simicskó will be the patron of the event. The commemoration will begin with a screening of a film, which will be followed by the opening of an exhibition of György Mánfai’s photographs titled Hungarian WWI Memorials on the Italian Front. VERITAS Subject Team Leader Róbert Hermann will introduce the exhibition. The day will culminate with a roundtable discussion in which VERITAS Director Sándor Szakály will participate.

*The Battle of Capporetto was where the Central Powers broke through the Italian front, with hopes of marching towards the interior of Italy.
