As part of the Freedom First 1956 – 2016 program series, Children of the ’56 Revolution, a new academic volume whose title takes inspiration from an essay by Tibor Déry, has recently been published. The precursor to this book was a 2006 catalog of 100 films about the 1956 Hungarian Revolution titled Thirteen Days of Hope.
The Hungarian Academy of Arts is organizing the book premiere for Children of the ’56 Revolution, which will be followed by the premiere of three new short films: Boys from the House, Registry and Fragments. Invited guests for the evening include Bence Csatári, László Deák-Sárosi, István Kiss, Zsolt Meskó and Zoltán V. Szilágyi. Eszter Zsófia Tóth will be representing the VERITAS Institute at the book premiere, which will be moderated by Balázs Szűk.
