VERITAS Research Institute and Archives

11. - 12. September, 2019

The Hungarian National Assembly Directorate for Public Collections and Public Education, the Research Center for the Humanities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the VERITAS Research Institute and Archives jointly host a 2-day multiple locale conference on the Hungarian Soviet Republic*.

On the opening day of the conference, welcoming remarks are given by: István  Bellavics (Director of the Hungarian National Assembly Directorate for Public Collections and Public Education), Pál Fodor (Director General of the Research Center for the Humanities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences) and Róbert Hermann (Subject Team Leader at the VERITAS Institute and President of the Hungarian Historical Society). From the VERITAS Institute, David Ligeti and Gábor Ujváry are both scheduled to speak on September 11th.

If you wish to attend the conference at the Hungarian Parliament Building, you must register here. The two events on September 12th do not require registration.

* Established in 1919, the Hungarian Soviet Republic, also referred to as the Republic of Councils in Hungary, was a short-lived communist government under the leadership of Béla Kun.
