The municipality of Hódmezővásárhely, the Point of Remembrance, the Ferenc Bessenyei Community Center and the László Németh Municipal Library have jointly invited the larger community to a wide-ranging series of events commemorating the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. These include conferences, roundtable discussions, stage performances, history competitions and film showings to be held between September and December of this year.

The VERITAS Research Institute for History will be represented by Eszter Zsófia Tóth (The Fate of Rural Women in 1956) and János Rácz (Hungary or Hell? Stories from the Refugees of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution) at the conference titled Heaven and Hell: The Highs and Lows of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
