On October 22nd, 2016, the Tápiógyörgye local government will hold a number of programs to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. One of these will be a 3 PM gathering titled Tápió Remembers the 1956 Hungarian Revolution: A Presentation at the local library, where Mihály Terék and members of the Torockó Circle of Friends will make historical presentations. Additionally László Anka, historian and research fellow at the VERITAS Research Institute for History, will talk about the events that transpired in the Tápiószecő military barracks during the revolution.
