The Institute of History at Pázmány Péter Catholic University, the Összehasonlító Civilizációtörténeti Kutatócsoport (Comparative Civilizations History Research Group) and the Writers’ Association for Historical Novels are jointly organizing an academic conference in order to analyze what role historical novels play in transferring historical knowledge. Moreover the conference will provide an opportunity for novelists to share their thoughts on how they view the relationship between historiography and literature.
The VERITAS Institute will be represented by Kálmán Árpád Kovács at the event. His presentation is titled History and Nation-Building in Mór Jókai’s The Gypsy Baron.
