The VERITAS Research Institute for History will be introducing two new books to the wider public at a book premiere at the Military History Institute and Museum. The first book (The Suez Crisis and Hungary 1956: The Studies) is a collection of the speeches given at the VERITAS Institute’s international conference on the Suez Crisis and the 1956 Hungarian Revolution held on November 18th, 2017. The second book (The Suez Crisis and Hungary 1956: Diplomatic Writings on the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and the Suez Crisis) is a collection of related historical diplomatic documents.
Opening remarks will be made by Colonel and Commander Vilmos Kovács (Ministry of Defense Military History Institute and Museum) and Sándor Szakály (Director of the VERITAS Research Institute for History).
The books will be introduced and reviewed by István Íjgyártó (Minister of State for Cultural and Science Diplomacy) and Lieutenant General Zoltán Orosz (Deputy Chief of Defense of the Hungarian Armed Forces)
Following the book premiere the winning participants of The Suez Crisis and Hungary – 1956 online contest will be announced; Mária Schmidt (Government Commissioner and Director-General of the House of Terror Museum) will hand out prizes to the winning teams and their teachers.
