On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Géza Gyóni*, the Dabas local government, Szózat (a Christian conservative literary magazine) and the Evangelical Church of Gyón will hold a commemoration, which will culminate with the unveiling of the recently renovated statue of Gyóni.
Mayor Zoltán Kőszegi and Deputy State Secretary (Ministry of Human Capacities) Anikó Herter-Krucsai will make opening remarks, followed by Director of the VERITAS Research Institute for History Sándor Szakály’s commemorative speech. The commemoration will also include performances by folk song singer Kamilla Dévai Nagy and the winners of the Géza Gyóni Poem Recitation Competition Mrs. László Strich, Ádám Konrád Kurucz and Judit Kiss.
