On the occasion of the Memorial Day for the Victims of Communism, a commemoration is held in Tápiógyörgy. As part of the event, there is a showing of Katalin Liebmann’s film 1956 in the Villages of the Tapió Region, which looks at the events of 1956 as they unfolded in the townships found along the banks of the Tápió River. Director of the Blaskovich Museum Csilla Móró-Gócsa and our VERITAS colleague László Anka introduce the film. The commemoration culminates with the unveiling of a memorial plague honoring the memory of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
