The theme of this year’s Apáczai Summer Academy* is History and Hungarianness, which the Association of Hungarian Pedagogues of Vojvodina organizes on July 12th–13th. Among the invited speakers are two of our VERITAS leaders. Director of the Institute Sándor Szakály‘s lecture is titled Hungary in WWII, while Head of the Institute Gábor Ujváry gives two lectures, the titles of which are The Cultural Consequences of the Dismembering of Greater Hungary and Hungarian Higher Education Policy during the Interwar Years.

*János Apáczai Csere (June 10th, 1625 – December 31st, 1659) was a Transylvanian Hungarian polyglot and mathematician, famous for his work The Hungarian Encyclopedia, the first textbook to be written in Hungarian. The Encyclopædia Britannica calls him "the leading Protestant scholar and writer" of 17th-century Hungary.
