The Foundation to Preserve the Memory of Those Who Perished in the Gulag (FPMG) organizes a conference titled Violence instead of Freedom: The Fate of Hungarian Women in 1944–45. Ministerial Commissioner Zoltán Balog, Director General of the Hungarian National Museum Benedek Varga, Deputy State Secretary Gellért Sölch and FPMG President Jolán Pintér give opening remarks.    

Film producers participate in the first section of the conference: Márta Mészáros (Aurora Borealis), Sándor Sára (Hungarian Women in the Gulag), Henriett Tunyogi (Night Song: Why it is important to talk about rape victims and children born of rape) and Dezső Zsigmond (Subcarpathian Scream).

The VERITAS Institute is represented by Eszter Zsófia Tóth, who speaks about the female prisoners of the Gulag Archipelago.
