VERITAS Research Institute for History and Archives

25 April 2019

The Katus László History Research Club, the Szentágothai János Protestant Dormitory of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Pécs and the Department of Modern History (Institute of History) of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Pécs jointly organize a conference entitled Lives in the Way of the Revolutions of 1918–1920. Máté Gali (Albert Berzeviczy’s Life in the Way of the Revolutions), Ádám Schwarczwölder (József Széll: Tireless Administrator of Two Eras) and Gábor Ujváry (The Turning Point of the Life of Kuno Klebelsberg: From a Clerical Career to the Qualities of the Statesman) represent the VERITAS Institute at the event.

The objective of the conference is to highlight the career starts and revolutionary endeavors and experiences (in the Era of the Dual Monarchy) of the men who would go on to play significant roles in the Horthy Era. The lecturers analyze how the earlier socialization of these men was altered by the events of the 1918–1920 revolutions, i.e. what changes their worldviews went through.
