The Győrffy István Museum in Karcag hosts an exhibition dedicated to Lieutenant General Vitéz Imre Csécsi Nagy (1868–1967) entitled Gallantry with Humanity. Csecsi Nagy led the 1st Népfelkelő (Popular Uprising) Horse Brigade into battle during WWI. He was awarded the Order of the Iron Crown and Leopold, one of the highest orders of merit in Austria-Hungary, for his wartime bravery. After the war, he served as president of both the National Alliance for Wartime Disabled, Widows and Orphans and the Magyar Úri Kaszinó (Hungarian Gentlemen’s Parlor). He was also co-chairman of the Bethlen Gábor Alliance. The exhibition consists of original photographs and documents related to his illustrious career. Our colleague Attila Réfi opens the exhibition.
