A commemoration in Toronto

31 May 2015

The day is slowly coming when those who survived WWII will no longer be with us, their lives having been spared by some kind of special mercy, perhaps so that every year they can honor the memory of their brothers killed in action. This year, on May 31st, the Hungarians of Canada will gather in Toronto to observe Heroes Day at an event organized mutually by the World Federation of Hungarian Veterans and the Rákóczi Foundation. Sándor Szakály, the Director of the VERITAS Research Institute for History, will make a presentation titled Remembering Those who Fell in Defense of the Nation, a Modern-Day Commemoration of Hungarian Heroes.
