An all-day conference titled “Society and Culture in Hungary during the Interwar Years” and hosted by the Miklós Horthy Foundation will be held at the Kaposvár County Hall on Saturday, August 22nd.
Following mass at Sacred Heart Church, better known as the Church of Heroes, and the wreath-laying commemoration at the Vitéz memorial, the first half of the conference shall take place. Among the presenters will be:
- Sándor Szakály, Director of the VERITAS Research Institute of History, to discuss the Horthy Era’s national policies
- János Botos, historian, to discuss the circumstances of European and Hungarian Jewry during the war
- István Ravasz, military historian, to discuss Hungary’s entry into the war
- Zalán Bognár, Associate Professor at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, to discuss the 1944 German occupation of Hungary.
Among the presenters in the second half of the conference will be Dr. Gábor Ujváry, the Subject Team Leader of the Miklós Horthy Era Research Team at the VERITAS Research Institute of History.
