VERITAS Research Institute for History and Archives

Book premier

14 September 2015

The Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Ministry of State for Cultural and Science Diplomacy invite the public to a book premier. On Monday, September 14th, 2015, at 3 PM, after Minister of State István Íjgyártó’s opening statement, military historian and Director of the VERITAS Research Institute for History Dr. Sándor Szakály will review two new books about foreign policy.

The two new books, Iratok a magyar Külügyminisztérium történetéhez 1985–1993 (Papers of the History of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs 1985–1993) and A magyar külpolitika kronológiája 1990–2010 (The Chronicle of Hungarian Foreign Policy 1990–2010), on the basis of available documents, share the story of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1985 to 1993, including the changes that occurred at the Ministry following the System Changeover, and provides a picture of the Ministry both pre- and post-1989/1990, as well as of its management and organization from 1990 to 2010. What makes the book premier distinct is that our very own Dr. János Sáringer, Senior Research Fellow of the Post-1945 Era Research Team, is the editor of the two-volume Papers of the History of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs 1985–1993.
