Commemorating the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and Fight for Freedom

22. - 24. October 2015

The local government of Keszthely is preparing to commemorate the anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution with a series of events. These include a candlelight procession, trade and crafts displays, stage and dance productions etc. Between October 22 – 24th, 2015, an exhibition of Artúr Görgényi’s paintings also can be viewed. On the morning of October 23rd, a celebratory mass will be held in the Our Lady of Hungary Parish Church, followed by a commemoration on Keszthely’s main square. MP Jenő Manninger and Mayor Ferenc Ruzsics will make opening speeches, after which Endre Marinovich, Deputy Director at the VERITAS Research Institute for History, will deliver the keynote address.
