On November 27 – 29th, the Hungarian Association organized the 55th Hungarian Congress in Cleveland, OH (USA). The program’s overarching theme was “Historical Insights, Hungary and WWII”. Sándor Szakály, Director of the VERITAS Research Institute for History (based in Budapest), was the keynote speaker. During the three-day gathering, numerous artistic exhibitions, book premieres, film screenings and social events took place. The wide variety of programs offered something for everyone.
On November 28th the special guest of the luncheon and the keynote speaker was Dr. Sándor Szakály, who shared his Hungary and WWII presentation with the guests. On Saturday evening a banquet was followed by the traditional Hungarian Ball. On Sunday, following Holy Mass and several additional informative presentations the gathering was officially closed at 11 AM with the singing of the Hungarian national anthem.
