On January 16th, 2016, the Miklós Horthy Foundation will host an all-day conference titled Society and Culture in Hungary during the Interwar Period at the Faculty of Military Sciences and Officer Training of the National University of Public Service. Sándor Szakály, Gábor Ujváry and János Sáringer will be representing the VERITAS Research Institute for History at the event.

Following former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Advisors for the VERITAS Research Institute for History Péter Boross’ opening remarks, the first half of the conference will be dedicated to examining the social issues of the Horthy Era, with VERITAS Director Sándor Szakály taking a look at the issues facing the Hungarian armed forces in 1918-1919 and Senior Research Fellow János Sáringer detailing Hungarian foreign policy from the time of the signing of the Trianon Peace Treaty up to the start of WWII.
In the second half of the conference, Subject Team Leader Gábor Ujváry will highlight the era’s cultural, educational and sport protocols / policies.
