At 5 PM on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016, Dr. Sándor Szakály, Director of the VERITAS Research Institute for History, will introduce to the public Árpád-Róbert Berekméri’s book “Lesz még kikelet!” A marosvásárhelyi magyar királyi 27. székely honvéd könnyű hadosztály a második világháborúban (1940-1945) (“There will be Another Spring!” - The Royal Hungarian Army’s Marosvásárhely-based 27th Sekler Light Infantry Division in WWII [1940-1945]). The book premiere will take place at the Litea Bookstore located in the Castle District in Budapest (Hess András tér 4. sz.).
As a result of his tireless research, Árpád-Róbert Berekméri has written the history of the 27th Sekler Light Infantry Division based in Marosvásárhely (Târgu Mureș, RO). Named after the military newspaper of the time ("There will be Another Spring!"), the book follows the Sekler division from its inception to the desperate fighting on the Czech lands and Austria to their final surrender. It is supplemented by a detailed list of all the soldiers who were decorated for valor on the battlefield and/or died heroically defending their nation. Numerous period photographs and maps are found throughout the book, bringing the division’s story to life. It also includes a bibliography, index and brief bilingual summary (résumé) in Romanian and Hungarian.
