VERITAS Debate Nights

The eighteenth subject to be debated as part of the VERITAS Debate Nights series will be the electoral system and electoral law during the Horthy Era. Gábor Ujváry, VERITASSubject Team Leader, will moderate the debate between Gábor Hollósi, VERITAS Senior Research Fellow, and Levente Püski, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of History at the University of Debrecen. They will discuss the most important aspects of Hungarian electoral law during the interwar period, the steps taken to implement and extend the list system and the changing requirements of active and passive suffrage law. They will also debate the social impact the law had, as well as what its goals and political consequences were.
